Nintendo has officially released the expansion pack for Nintendo 64 and Sega games on its Switch Online service, and fans are raving about the quality.
When the company presented its news regarding the latest Animal Crossing updates on October 15, it added some more information regarding the future of the Nintendo Switch Online service. They announced that for an additional $ 50 per year, gamers will be able to access games for the Nintendo 64 as well as the Sega Genesis.
Fans around the world were furious with the announcement, claiming that Nintendo was not offering enough to make the extra cost worth it. Fans compared the cost of the service with the optional expansion pack to Xbox Game Pass, a service that offers hundreds of games to play as long as you subscribe.
Now that the pack is out, gamers around the world are complaining about the poor performance of N64 games, including input lag and music lag.
Switch players furious with the N64 expansion
Now that gamers have started to upgrade their online service, some gamers haven’t had the best of luck playing their favorite titles for a variety of reasons.
Twitter user ChrisVoiceman showed comparison photos of Legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask on Nintendo 64 in addition to its Switch Online version, stating, “Apparently the Switch Online N64 emulator is really bad at capturing some elements of the N64.”
Apparently the Switch Online N64 emulator is really bad at capturing some elements of the N64. Majora’s Mask would have been the only game that could have made me pay for it, but given how heavy the atmosphere is to lift in this game, I’m missing out. pic.twitter.com/8626NqpGto

Voiceman went on to explain that Majora’s Mask would have been the game to get him to fully support the expansion pack. He said: “But given how heavy the atmosphere is to lift in this game, I am absent.”
He’s also not alone when it comes to issues with Zelda games, as CLGaming speedrunner ZFG said. Ocarina of Time was bad thus: “Holy s ** t OoT on Switch is so bad it could actually be worse than WiiU VC”
Some gamers also complain about unstable network issues, despite having a strong internet connection, causing games like Mario Kart 64 to skip and stutter.
